Robert Kōk

6th-7th Grade Humanities Teacher

Robert’s educational background includes a BA in humanities and religious studies from San Jose State University, an MA in philosophy from San Francisco State University, and a PhD in philosophy from the University of Utah (currently in progress). He has taught numerous courses in philosophy at SFSU and at the University of Utah and presented his research in conferences around the world.

He is deeply passionate about both learning and teaching, with a particular focus on making the practical value of philosophy and the humanities accessible to students beyond the university setting. Robert strongly believe that the ability to think critically, solve problems, and approach complex issues from multiple perspectives is essential for young students to navigate an ever-changing world. These skills also empower them to make well-reasoned choices, ethical decisions, and build meaningful relationships that will benefit them throughout their lives. Beyond delivering innovative and engaging lessons, he is committed to mentoring students, supporting them in overcoming academic challenges, and celebrating their successes both in and out of the classroom.

In his free time, he loves strumming his guitar and creating music, riding his Triumph Bonneville T100, exploring the wilderness, and spending quality time with his wife and son.
