Duncan Lyon

Duncan Lyon is currently Head of School at Allen-Stevenson and previously served for eleven years as Head of School at The Carey School. Across his leadership roles, he has strengthened partnerships among faculty, families, alumni, and trustees, led major capital projects, and guided comprehensive strategic planning efforts. He has a strong track record of supporting healthy enrollment growth while advancing faculty development and evaluation systems. His commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging has helped foster positive, engaged school communities and elevate overall program quality.

Duncan began his career at San Francisco University High School, where he taught history, coached basketball, and held several leadership roles. He went on to serve at The Dalton School in New York and Bentley School in Berkeley, building broad experience in both teaching and administration across the East and West Coasts. Field Middle School will benefit greatly from his thoughtful leadership and deep educational expertise.
