Christine Fairless

Christine Fairless is a proud Bay Area native, born in San Francisco and raised in the East Bay. In her fourth year as Head of School of The Girls’ Middle School, she is passionate about educating girls at this crucial time in life, providing students opportunities to broaden their horizons, build their confidence, and know that they can be whoever they dream of becoming.

A longtime middle school educator, Christine began her career in education as a middle school math and science teacher in both public and private schools. Before coming to GMS, she was the Middle School Director at St. Paul’s School in downtown Oakland. In her spare time, Christine enjoys exploring the beautiful hiking trails in the Bay Area. She is also a fervent Valkyries and Warriors fan!

Christine earned her undergraduate degree in Secondary Math Education at the University of Wyoming, where she still holds the all-time scoring record for the women’s basketball team. After fifteen years of teaching, she attended Stanford University and earned her Master's in Learning, Design, and Technology in the School of Education.
